Inspired by Grams' trip to DC, Martin and I decided to make a trip down there ourselves too. I think this is as spontaneous as I can get. We planned it in less than a week. No idea what we will be doing down there, but since it is Martin's first time we will definitely go to the "must see" places. Hopefully the weather will hold off cause forecast is rainy when we are here.
Today was another early start day. We had caught the Bolt Bus at Newark Penn at 8:15 AM. It took awhile, but by 1 PM we were in D.C. A half hour walk to our hotel ended up being worth it. After resting a little and catching our breathe from the hike to the hotel, we took a nice stroll down to the White House. We also saw the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. Unfortunately, recent news is heading towards a Government Shutdown. Oh dear...
