Good Morning Charleston

Count down time! One month to go until I have my next vacation. This year it seems like I have tons of them. But I surely will be having none very soon. Just to let you know. You will need lots of vacation time if you are in a long distance relationship. Make sure you have enough before you start one. Just a tip.

These pictures weren't taken on vacation, even though I wished they were. I had a two four hour business trip in Charleston, S.C. The turn around time on this multi-destination trip was ridiculous. I was extremely tired when I finally got home; but, it was a great experience. I would definitely do it again.

I tried to mimic a 'XO' cut file I had saw on the internet. Yes, I was too cheap to purchase it. So I decided to cute it by hand. It turned out decently; if I say so myself. I think it is something I would try again. If you can't tell, only half the letters are cut. Once the one side is cut, you open the flap and fold it over to make it a whole letter because 'X' and 'O' are symmetrical letters on the vertical axis and horizontal axis (now that I thought about it).

Turning 2 - Almost 3

This little boy isn't so little anymore. He is going to be turning three very soon. On top of that, he is going to be a big brother as well. It is crazy how time flies and how quickly the little ones grow up.

Superhero - Super Jake

I think everyone needs a hero in his life. This little guy has the cape and all. He is definitely a super hero in my book. What a cutie!

I have so much paper, that lately I am trying to make use of it with punches. I punched out squares and cut them on the diagonal to create that layered effect on the pattern paper. Washi tape was used under that title to make it stand out more.

Lately I am a big fan of punching out shapes and layering them for effects. This circular layout is from a bunch of circles cut in half and layered like flower petals. This little boy sure has got some spunk with his hat on.

Cliff Walk

I used a heart notepad as a stencil for the background. These pictures were taken on our short road trip to Newport. On our last day in Rhode Island, we went to the Cliff Walk for gorgeous views of the ocean.

Not Sure...

if this is a good idea. As much as I do not like driving, I wouldn't let Jake drive me anytime soon. I spend a least two hours of my day on the road. At least is the key phrase. I hate it. I absolutely hate it. In my head, I believe it is something that I cannot change. To live in northern New Jersey is extremely expensive. It is even more expensive to be living so close to the city. I must solve this soon....

Sharing with Mom

Would anyone believe me if I said I was very busy? I would because I am constantly exhausted, unmotivated and drained. I just read an article recently about how many people are saying they are busy. But being busy doesn't mean much; it gives the impression of being important and needed. Life shouldn't be this way; or at least I think it shouldn't be. I do believe that time is worth more than money. This long weekend was a much needed break for me. Unfortunately, it felt very unproductive because all I wanted to do was to do nothing. Nothing means watching television, pigging out and sleeping in until I cannot feel anything anymore. I need a few more of these to have myself to reset back to normal and to feel invigorated again.

Below I tried to use a relatively new stencil on the background, punched out a bunch of hearts and lined them up to a heart shape. This picture is super cute of my cousin and her son sharing a cookie. Too adorable to not make a page for.

We've Got This

I went a little crazy a couple months ago when I made a pit stop at A.C. Moore. I saw they had 12x12 pads of paper on a Manger's Special - less than $7 for a pack of 48 sheets. These weren't the generic ones they constantly have in stock. It was the most recent collections for my favorite brands. I saw the "Boys Rule" collection from Crate Paper and thought I could use the whole stack on pages for Jake. I use lots of the bits and pieces on the layout below. The tile "got game" is chip board embossed with a pale green powder. No idea where I got the chipboard from but it worked out well with my theme of the page.
