Too Many Changes

I guess it is time to make an appearance, especially now that I have been MIA for three weeks. (But I highly doubt any body would even notice). Work has been getting better every week and I am learning more about what I want to do after I graduate.

As the officical summer approaches, I would love to start scrapbooking again. Unfortunately, the goal I have set have set out for myself to clean my room has not been acheived yet. The deadline of May 31st is drawing near and slight progress has been made. I did not take a picture of what my Disaster, (yes with a capital D; it has a name,) lookes like prior to the massive overhaul. Truthfully, I was too embarassed to even look at it myself. However, with this three day weekend, I hope I can pull it all together.

I will put a more legit update soon. Give me another two weeks. :)

Over Flowing with Buttons

I love my buttons, can you tell? I like the color scheme especially in conjunction with the excitement of New Years. I had the hardest time attaching the "remember" definition clear to the background pattern paper without leaving smudges from the glue. The buttons were used like sticker-ed embellishments. Not too much time to create new layouts. I will be able to spend some time after work relaxing and scrapbooking. This may take longer than I like because I have a feeling it will take a few weeks as I continue to clean out my room.

Second Semester Down

After my first day at work, it is clear that my second semester is at its official end. It has been a pleasant experience so far. Another day tomorrow, but I think I am getting a hang of this eight hour day routine.

This layout is from my first semester. I will create another one after we have other second end of the semester party, which is this Friday. Next semester will be my last semester as a student. I do not see any other reason why I would be a student in the future unless I am planning to get another degree.

Mother's Day Cards

It is Mother's day today and I am spending it packing and moving out later this evening. I will be spending time with my Mommy as she helps me move out of my school dorm. Going home to start my internship tomorrow. I did make these Mother's Day cards for Cropchocolate's {Spring/Easter} style challenge. Not only did I make one for my Mommy, I made some extra ones thinking that I could sell them. If I do not get to use them anytime soon, I can always save them for next year.

I tried to use my Making Memories Slice more. Many of the die cuts were produced with the Slice. Recently, I purchased a Slice that can draw and emboss. I have not tried it yet, but I plan on using sometime soon. I would love to work with a heat embosser and all the glitter. Embossing is definitely on my list of new things to try this summer. So much I want to do, but when I look at it, I am concerned that I will not have enough time to do anything. I will be needing all my energy to make an impression at my internship.

Too Far For Dinners

A true friend is one who thinks you are a good egg even if you are half-cracked. ~Author Unknown

This layout is a very old one. The pictures are twice as old. In the last two months, Ariel and Sindhu celebrated their recent birthdays in March and April, respectively. for this layout I wanted incorporate the pictures into a shape of a cake. The strips of colorful paper on top are to be candles. The balloons on the side are to give it the cheery birthday feel.

I am very much looking forward to going back to Central Jersey for this summer. ( I am not excited about living with my parents though because, my father never turns on the air conditioning regardless of the temperature) But I will be closer to my friends, so we can meet up and hang out.

3 more days of sleeping in and then the busy-ness starts.
Things I want to do this summer:
1) Rock my internship (this is a must)
2) Learn another language  (which means a visit to the library)
3) Clean out my room ( I intend to do a before and after shot of this disaster)
4) Network- network -network
5) Learn the basics of adobe software
That's all for now. Time to go back to doing nothing.

First Sale

So in attempt to pay for my hobby, I decided to start selling cards. Cards for birthdays, holidays and for any other reason someone needs a card. My roommate, Diana, is super supportive that she was my first customer. I helped her make a card for her sister's birthday. I was not really planning it to be a birthday card. The card read "dream big dreams brittany! happy birthday!". I scrap lifted the ribbon part from someone else.

I also made a card for my God-father's birthday. Most of the time, I really like keeping it simple. So I really like how his card came out. I like how I bracketed the "b" because it was a play on his last name. I have a few cards in storage for Mother's Day. After I pick out a few for all the Moms I have got, then I think I will give away the rest. There is a lot of stress involved with making your hobby an income. I think I might pass on that experience for now. I will be starting my internship in a week; **crossing fingers** that everything goes well.
